Handling and Care Instructions for the Artwork

1. For Long-Term Display and Preservation

For Long-Term Display and Preservation
To preserve the artwork over the long term, we recommend alternating between displaying and storing the piece.
By allowing the artwork to rest in storage after a period of exhibition,
you can help prevent deterioration from ultraviolet (UV) exposure.
UV light is one of the most significant factors in artwork degradation.
Even indoors, please be mindful of strong artificial lighting, which can also contribute to damage.

2. Do Not Touch the Canvas Surface

Avoid Touching the Canvas Surface
Please do not touch the canvas affixed to the artwork.
The painted surface is highly delicate; direct contact may cause cracking,
peeling, or detachment from the base. Handle with extreme care.

3. On the Display Environment

On Display Environments
The artwork generally consists of an oil painting combined with a mount or support structure.
Oil paint surfaces are prone to attracting dust and debris due to their oily nature.
We recommend displaying the artwork in a clean environment with minimal dust.
If this is a concern, preparing a protective display case is advisable.
Even for relatively large wall-mounted pieces, it is possible to protect the surface with glass or acrylic panels.
If you wish to prepare a display case, we suggest consulting a local professional.
In some cases, we may be able to provide production support,
assuming shipping and material costs are covered by the customer.

4. Avoid Extreme Changes in Temperature or Humidity

Avoid Extreme Changes in Temperature or Humidity
The canvas used in this series is made of linen, a highly durable fiber,
but it is sensitive to environmental changes and may expand or contract.
To prevent this, the back of the canvas is sealed with film tape to minimize humidity effects
and reduce the risk of separation from the base.
However, excessive humidity or temperature changes may still compromise this protection.
The optimum temperature is generally between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 45 and 55%.
In museums and similar institutions, it is common to enclose display areas in cases
and use systems to control internal temperature and humidity.

5. Recommendation to Use White Gloves During Setup

Handling the Mount or Base
When setting up or handling the artwork, we strongly recommend wearing clean white gloves.
The base and mount surfaces are also delicate and susceptible to staining, which may be difficult or impossible to remove.
Oils from bare hands can lead to oxidation and premature discoloration.
Please refer to the included Handling Guide and take appropriate care.
We also suggest preparing in advance by reviewing procedures
and working with multiple people to reduce the risk of damage during setup.

6. If Dust or Debris Accumulates on the Artwork

If Dust or Debris Accumulates
If dust settles on the canvas, gently remove it using a soft air blower (like those used for camera cleaning).
If further cleaning is necessary, lightly stroke the surface using a soft,
fine makeup brush that won’t shed bristles.
For the base or mount surface, the same soft-brush method is recommended.
Avoid wiping, as this can cause damage or micro-cracks.
If dust or debris remains and interferes with viewing, we recommend contacting us for support.
Assistance may be available upon request, with the customer covering shipping and necessary costs.

7. No Protective Varnish Applied to the Artwork

No Protective Varnish Applied
These artworks do not have a protective varnish.
This is a deliberate choice by the artist.
Should you wish to apply a varnish, you may do so at your own discretion by consulting a qualified professional.
Depending on your display environment—for instance, if the space includes smokers,
exposure to traffic exhaust, or cooking activities—a protective varnish may be advisable to preserve the painting surface.
